Tony Stewart to sit out Michigan

Kannapolis, NC (SportsNetwork.com) – Tony Stewart has made the decision not to compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event this weekend at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.

Stewart, who struck and killed a fellow competitor walking on the dirt track during a caution in a sprint car race on Saturday night at Canandaigua Motorsports Park last week, has not made a decision on upcoming Sprint Cup races. He did not race in last week’s event at Watkins Glen following the incident.

Jeff Burton will drive the No. 14 Mobil 1/Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet SS for Stewart-Hass Racing in place of Stewart.
